Children & Youth Ministries

  • Nursery Ministry

(Ages Birth-Kindergarten) At Community Bible Church we have an excellent group of volunteers who provide a healthy and safe atmosphere for children to explore and learn about Jesus. “At CBC, God calls for us ‘to reach, to win, to train and to send.’ Each week more parents are being reached and being trained, and their children are being loved.” The nursery serves children from bed babies to four years of age, and provides learning opportunities, snacks and FUN. This ministry allows our quality team to teach and care for God’s most precious gift -- our children.
  • Children's Ministry

(Grades K-5th) Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not part from it.” This sums up the philosophy behind Community Bible Church’s children’s ministry. CBC focuses on the whole child, and uses God’s word as the guide in training our children for life and for ministry.
  • Youth Ministry

(Grades 6th- 12th) We have a vibrant, on-target youth ministry which deals frankly and Biblically with topics facing youth today. Our young people participate in a variety of fun activities and opportunities to meet needs in their world.

Adult Ministries

  • Women's Ministry

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry at CBC is to reach all women: single, married, with or without children, young, middle aged or mature, with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to offer them quality opportunities for continued spiritual growth and ministry. We pray that our women will become students of the Word and develop a vibrant meaningful prayer life. We offer monthly fellowships which usually include a guest speaker. Bible studies are offered throughout the year as well. We invite all women to come and join the ladies of CBC as we experience God together. Remember Proverbs 31:30 (NLT) – “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.”
  • Men's Ministry

Our Men's Ministry is for all men, in all walks of life...single, married, young, mature. We all have one thing in common and that is Jesus. We seek to glorify and serve Him in all that we do. We offer monthly times of fellowship and Bible study to help each other grow in Christ and to encourage one another in the faith.
  • Prime Timer's Ministry

The Prime Timer's Ministry is for men, women, and couples who are 55 or older. We are young at heart! We have many activities available throughout the year to get involved in this ministry

Community Outreach Ministries

  • Discipleship Ministry

Discipleship is a necessary next step after a decision to follow Christ has been made. We sing a song about coming back to the 'Heart of Worship', but we like to think Discipleship is about coming back to the 'Heart of Service'. Pastor Jim continually states that everyone should have both a Paul and a Timothy in their life, expressing the need that everyone has to be mentored and in turn, mentor someone else. This is our vision here at CBC and each day we move toward that goal. Discipleship is a process and not an event. The process never stops just as an individual never stops learning, and the cycle continues as the disciple becomes the mentor."
  • G.R.O.W. Ministry

G.R.O.W. is the Evangelism and Outreach ministry at CBC. G.R.O.W. stands for God Rewards Our Work and is our way of being obedient to the Great Commission. This ministry is designed to touch the community with the gospel of Christ by doing visits, writing letters, making phone calls and concerted prayer. If you are a believer in Christ and want to be obedient to His commands, we welcome you to the G.R.O.W. team.
  • Oaks of Righteousness Ministry

Oaks of Righteousness is a ministry of CBC that is focused solely on missions and the persecuted church around the world. We meet once a month to spend time in prayer for the missionaries that CBC supports; as well as to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world who are enduring persecution because of their faith. Throughout the year we work on various projects to increase awareness within the church of the realities of persecution worldwide and get the church involved in ministering to these believers. We believe that it is crucial that we support these saints who daily live out their belief in Christ and desire to serve Him at any cost.Jail East Ministry “Those who work in the jail ministry are volunteer Chaplains. We serve the women inmates at Jail East by leading them in prayer, praise and Bible study. We go to be a blessing, but leave as the ones who receive the blessing. These ladies are devoted to knowing more about the Bible and knowing God’s will for their lives.” “Words can’t describe the overwhelming feeling I have when I leave this service. You don’t have to have the ‘been there, done that, got the t-shirt’ kind of life to minister to this group -- just be a willing vessel.”
  • Clothes Closet and Food Pantry Ministry

Here at CBC, we want to be a blessing to those who are in need. We have a wonderful clothes closet and food pantry to help individuals or families who are in need of clothing and food. Proverbs 19:17 says, "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed."

Service Ministries

  • Prayer Ministry

Prayer is the most important ministry at CBC, and it is one that is available to anyone who has a desire to know God. During every Sunday worship service, intercessors are praying that God’s Word will reach the heart of each person in the congregation and lead someone to make a decision to follow Christ. The preparation for Sunday’s service comes on Wednesday night at our weekly prayer meeting. This is the most important time of the week for CBC, as members gather and lift a collective prayer to God for those in need and for the Sunday service.
  • Media Ministry

The Media Ministry plays a vital part in every Sunday service. Without the Media Ministry we would not have balanced sound or words to follow along to on the screen as we sing. The Media Team runs the sound board; they record services; and they also put the songs, verses, and graphics on the main screen.
  • Music Ministry

The music ministry at CBC encompasses all styles from traditional hymns to contemporary praise music and everything in between. “We take worship very seriously, but we still have fun. Our Praise Team offers their skills to God Almighty as a sacrifice of praise. It is not about performing but it is solely about worshiping. We’re here to praise God’s holiness, faithfulness and beauty.”
  • First Impressions Ministry

Our goal is to make our guests feel welcome and “at home.” When you first come to CBC, you will be greeted by a volunteer in this ministry. Chris Lovell, along with his team are ready to assist our guests from the moment they arrive and throughout the worship service in whatever way they can.
  • Library Ministry

The CBC library is filled with resources that will educate, enlighten and entertain our members. The library is open every Sunday immediately after services.
  • Safety Ministry

The safety of our members and guests is a top priority and our security team is dedicated to that purpose. We have paid security, as well as church volunteers, who are stationed at key points for all worship services and other events.
